This is one ICONIC piece of architecture! Photo – Bethany Clare.

Part British country house, part modernist manor – this house in Table Top, New South Wales is an indisputably visionary piece of architecture.

Designed by modernist legend, Roy Grounds, in the 1970s it retains nearly all of its original finishes – and definitely all of its grandeur. There are many spectacular features to the home (including the enormous pool overlooking Lake Hume!), but the most notable is the 6-metre tall windows which offer views across the sprawling regional landscape. Glazing offers the same dramatic purpose upstairs, where windows line the bedrooms to panoramic effect.

The estate itself boasts 15 acres, with the house occupying 537 square metres of the property. The material palette is raw but varied: Woven raffia lines the underside of the ceilings, while handmade joinery, exposed besser block walls and bluestone flooring add a feast of textural variety.

Be quick, this iconic piece of architectural history won’t be around for long!

51 Old Sydney Road, Table Top will be sold via private sale through P. J. Murphy. See the full listing here!
