Dromana Coastal Garden
This stunning sculptural garden designed by landscape architect Nathan Burkett is positioned on the edge of the cliff, enjoying spectacular vistas across Port Phillip Bay. A timber boardwalk snakes through the diverse coastal plant life in a botanical patchwork of vibrant green and cool silver, leading down to a viewing platform for visitors to enjoy the sweeping views across the bay. A must see!

Musk Cottage
Set across ten acres in Mornington Peninsula town of Flinders, Musk Cottage is the passion project of Rick Eckersley and his Eckersley Garden Architecture team. Since purchasing the property in 2008, Rick and his team have transformed the grounds from its original form as a trimmed ‘twee’ English Garden, to what they now call a ‘multicultural melting pot’ of plant life, creating a space that is vast, poetic and uniquely Australian.

Scott Leung’s Canterbury Garden
This tranquil family garden in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs was completed just over two years ago by Eckersley Garden Architecture, tucked away from the main road and providing a pocket of respite for the owners. Working alongside William Boags Architects, the team have expertly integrated a new extension at the rear of the property with its lush garden surrounds, creating a harmonious relationship between indoor and outdoor living. You’ll find some serious urban / suburban greenery inspiration here!

Heronswood Garden
If you happen to be heading out Dromana way to check out Nathan Burkett’s aforementioned coastal garden, make a day out of it and spend a lazy afternoon exploring the fruitful grounds of Heronswood. Whilst not officially part of the Garden Design Fest lineup, Heronswood is a must see for any garden enthusiast.
Clive and Penny Blazey purchased Heronswood in 1983, raising their family there, while using the garden as a testing ground for new plant species and different heirloom varieties for the Diggers Club, the mail-order plant and seed service the pair launched in 1978. Nowadays this heritage listed two-hectare property is a living catalogue of the rare plants and heirloom seeds they have helped preserve over the last 40 years.
