‘It might seem a little crazy to say we’ve loved renovating the home but it’s just been such a huge part of living there,’ she tells. Photo – Cricket Photography Studio. Assistant – Hayden Mustica.

‘The home would be perfect for is a young family because the backyard is all ready to go for some kids to enjoy,’ tells Briony, ‘But it would also be great for anyone without kids or older kids – as a permanent home or a holiday escape to relax in.’ Photo – Cricket Photography Studio. Assistant – Hayden Mustica.

Earlier in the week, a little real estate window-shopping led me to ‘Oasis of calm in unrivalled Jan Juc hideaway’. As you can imagine, that headline stopped me mid-scroll! Later, sharing the link to our oft-used #thingsiwanttobuy Slack channel in the office met with ‘Holy crap this might be my favourite home ever!’ ‘Dream location!’. And ‘anyone wanna pitch in and buy this place, we can time-share it?’

Regrettably, no TDF-er is in a position to do so just right now… but, we thought it might pique the interest of some lucky somebody out there. So, we reached out to homeowner Briony Delves to get all the details!

Featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two parking spaces, the lot sizes up to 540m2. With a coveted north-facing aspect, it’s a family home where indoor/outdoor living is encouraged – see bifold doors and windows in the living areas and main bedroom, oasis-level landscaping, and an entertaining-ready backyard with cubby and grass encircled tramp.

‘We moved into our home in 2013,’ tells Jan Juc local Briony. ‘We were looking for something in that area to renovate – it was a really dorky 90s home, but we saw the potential behind the multicoloured walls and frilly curtains.’

Not any more! The interior designer has channelled Scandinavian style in her dramatic renovation. She literally had a tin out the first day they moved in, painting both exterior and interior. ‘We’ve replaced almost everything since then, I think everything is new apart from the basic structure of the house and the big gum trees out the back,’ she adds. ‘We have a new kitchen with a big chunky solid concrete bench, Carrara marble splashback and my favourite brushed brass handles’.

Briony has a little bit of an aversion to white walls. Along with her soft colour scheme, she’s added v-groove panelling to most of the house, plus there’s wallpaper in the kids’ rooms, laundry and even the toilet!

‘Making this home perfect has been my main hobby,’ Briony reflects. And… she’s ready to embark on it all again, just around the corner.  Maybe we’ll be ready to buy when that one’s done!

The home is open for inspection tomorrow, May 4th from 12:30-1:00pm. For more information you can view the listing here.
